I have always loved old houses. As a child I took snapshots of mansions on Lake Drive in Milwaukee and drew floor plans for fun. When I grew up I got a Masters in Historic Preservation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, leading me to work for a variety of architecture-related organizations including the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Historic Pleasant Home, and the Wisconsin Historical Society. I was a Madison Landmarks Commissioner for over a decade, and served on the board of the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation. I created this efg preservation website as a landing page for the all the resources I think people might need to maintain their historic homes.

It is a work in progress.

My recommendations are free, and while I can be hired to complete a historic tax credit application,

I know you can do it yourself!

I give historical and architectural tours (with food!) through my business, Madison Food Explorers, and I also recommend the historic walking tours offered by the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation.
